MEDIUM VOLTAGE GAS INSULATED SWITCHGEAR PLATFORMS

CSC designs and fabricates elevated platforms for medium voltage (15 - 35 kV) gas insulated switchgear (GIS).  Usually where GIS switchgear is replacing air insulated switchgear, the GIS must be elevated above the floor level to accommodate cable entry from below.  Our unique design allows for maximum work space beneath the platform, eliminating the ‘forest’ of narrow frames that have been used in the past.  The most common GIS height is 48 inches above the floor, but CSC has produced platforms as low as 26 inches and as high as 96 inches above the floor.

Our structural design and production insure the tight tolerances required by the GIS manufacturers such as ABB, Siemens, and Schneider Electric (Square D).  Our field experience assists the site construction team to facilitate a smooth and seamless installation, and we work closely with the engineering team to understand and overcome the restrictions encountered at each GIS site.
